Creating an Employee Package
Application Deadline
Project start
Project end
Like many start-ups, our charity has operated to date with a lot of goodwill from employees. We have not previously felt like we can afford a full employee package, with above statutory minima on issues such as pay, sick pay, maternity leave etc.
We would like support in creating a compelling employee package which will help to make LwP an attractive place to work, supporting our recruitment and retention of talent. Our ultimate objective is to have a "Working at Learning with Parents" document which contains similar information to this package from another charity: https://www.teachfirst.org.uk/working-teach-first
We are looking for an HR specialist who will be able to:
- Help us to advertise LwP as an attractive place to work
- Support us to create and update relevant staff policies such as our pay policy, leave and absence and parental leave policies.
- Consider growth and performance management structures.
- Propose and cost other benefits that the charity could offer to current and potential employees.
Conduct a benchmarking exercise of staff benefits at similar-sized charities
Collect input from staff and trustees
Finalise the components needed for our "Working at Learning with Parents" package
Update / create policies covering:
- pay
- parental leave
- sickness
- annual leave
Suggest other benefits to be included in staff package
Present proposal to current staff and trustees
Review and amend based on feedback
Finalise content for "Working at Learning with Parents" package
We will be happy to provide our time to support in this work. We will also provide:
- a list of similar sized, same sector orgs for comparison
- examples of other employee packaged we like (e.g. https://www.teachfirst.org.uk/working-teach-first)
- our current policies
- our current pay structure
