Market research: Tutors to Teachers

This year, our tutor pool has grown from ~20 tutors to over 120 tutors. We have noticed anecotally that some of our tutors have expressed an interest in a career in teaching - either through the application process, or during their time as a tutor with Get Further. We would be keen to better understand the appetite for a career in teaching among our tutor pool. There may a role that Get Further could play in future to support our tutors to move into teaching in the further education sector, or to provide a pool of tutors that colleges could advertise their teaching vacancies to.
The objective of this project is to help us to conduct market research among our tutor pool to gauge the level of interest in a career in teaching / what support for a career in teaching that our tutors would like to see us provide.
The output of this market research would help us to develop a stronger professional development offer for tutors, supporting us to enhance our recruitment, diversify our revenue stream and meet our wider objectives to support the delivery of English and maths teaching in further education.
We would anticipate that this project would involve research tools, such as surveys, focus groups and interviews to better understand the level of interest among our tutors for moving into a career in teaching in the further education sector.
We would anticipate that the project would result in a short summary / analysis of the results of the market research, with recommendations for how we could take this project further (should the results indicate that this was an option).
