Mentoring Youth Red Cross
Challenge
The aim of the mentoring program relates to the areas of "social and professional integration" and "health promotion." In this regard, the intention is to facilitate the integration of foreign-language children and young adults (mentees) into their place of residence and the local community by expanding their language and local knowledge, strengthening their social networks, and enabling them to engage in active leisure activities. In addition, support is often provided with schoolwork or professional integration (e.g., finding an apprenticeship, the application process).
Expected outcome
The JRK's mentoring program aims to support mentees on their path to an independent, self-determined, and diverse life. Another goal is to raise awareness among the local population and those who have been living here for some time about the realities of life for foreign-language children and young adults. Getting to know each other can spark curiosity and foster understanding. In this way, mentoring should lead to greater tolerance and peaceful coexistence among the (young) population.

Junge Menschen und besonders Studierende sind überall auf der Welt verantwortlich für Veränderung. Wir möchten allen die Möglichkeit geben Ihre Zukunft mitzugestalten. Drei Werte stechen dabei für uns heraus: Engagement, Integration und Nachhaltigkeit.
Engagement: Für uns ist Engagement einer der wichtigsten Werte, den es zu fördern gilt. Engagement ist die Leidenschaft sich für Andere einzusetzen.
Integration: Integration bedeutet für uns mehr als die Integration von Flüchtlingen. Es ist die Integration von Stadt und Land, von Arbeitenden und Studierenden, Natur und Wirtschaft und auch von Kulturen.
Nachhaltigkeit: Das ist der wohl deutlichste Wert und doch ist Nachhaltigkeit mehr als Umweltbewusstsein. Es ist der bewusste und nachhaltige Umgang im Zusammenleben mit Mensche und Tier.
Wir hoffen, möglichst viele junge Menschen mit unseren Werten und unseren Projekten zu inspirieren.
