**Position: Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Volunteer Role with Potential for Paid Position**
**Summary:**
Harper Phoenix Interfaith, Inc. is seeking an experienced and dedicated Chief Operating Officer (COO) with expertise in nonprofit board structure and responsibilities. As we embark on our journey of growth and impact, we recognize the critical importance of structuring our board of directors and executive staff effectively. The COO will play a pivotal role in building the organizational capacity needed for our mission fulfillment. This position will begin as a volunteer role with the expectation of transitioning to a paid position as our organization grows.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Board Structure & Governance:** Collaborate with the board of directors to establish and refine the organization's board structure, roles, and responsibilities.
2. **Board Development:** Assist in recruiting, orienting, and developing board members, ensuring they are aligned with our mission and goals.
3. **Executive Leadership:** Work closely with the CEO and other executive staff to develop and execute the strategic vision, goals, and operational plans.
4. **Operational Excellence:** Oversee all operational and administrative functions, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with nonprofit regulations.
5. **Resource Management:** Manage financial and human resources, budgeting, and fundraising strategies to support programmatic initiatives.
6. **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Foster collaboration and communication among various departments and teams to maximize organizational impact.
7. **Program Support:** Oversee functions that support our programs, ensuring they align with our mission and strategic objectives.
8. **Transition to Paid Position:** As the organization grows and secures funding, transition into a paid COO role with a highly competitive compensation.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience in nonprofit leadership, particularly in board development and governance.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit regulations, compliance, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative leadership team.
- Passion for interfaith collaboration and social change.
- Willingness to initially volunteer with the expectation of converting to a paid position as the organization grows.
**Time Commitment:**
This volunteer position offers flexible hours to accommodate your availability. It is expected to transition into a paid position as the organization secures funding. The estimated time commitment for this role is 10-20 Hours per week.
