Bear Archers
The Bear Archers program teaches young men, ages 7-17, important skills like survival, disaster preparedness, public safety, and leadership. Through outdoor activities, they gain confidence and learn teamwork, helping them build a path to a self-sufficient future.
The Bear Archers program is designed to help young men overcome these challenges and prepare them to face the future with confidence, skills, and leadership. The Bear Archers program helps solve important challenges that many young men (ages 7-17) face, especially in underserved communities:
Lack of Outdoor Skills: Many young men don’t get the chance to learn survival skills like building shelters, starting fires safely, or finding clean water. These skills are important for staying safe in nature or during emergencies.
Not Ready for Emergencies: When disasters like storms, floods, or power outages happen, some young men don’t know what to do. They need to learn how to prepare and protect themselves and their families.
Low Confidence and Teamwork Skills: Some young men struggle with confidence, teamwork, or making decisions. Without these skills, it can be hard for them to work well with others or feel good about themselves.
Lack of Leadership Opportunities: Many young men don’t have a chance to learn how to lead or help others. Without learning leadership, it’s harder to grow into someone who can guide others.
By participating in the Bear Archers program, young men learn survival, teamwork, and leadership skills that prepare them to face challenges, stay safe, and grow into confident leaders. Our Bear Archers program helps young men (ages 7-17) solve these challenges by teaching them important skills in a fun and hands-on way. Here’s how:
Learning Outdoor Survival Skills: Bear Archers learn how to build shelters, safely start fires, purify water, and grow food. These skills help them stay safe in nature and during emergencies, making them feel confident and prepared.
Disaster Preparedness: We teach young men how to prepare for emergencies like storms or floods. They learn what to do, how to stay calm, and how to help their families and communities during tough times.
Building Confidence and Teamwork: Through group activities like camping and survival challenges, Bear Archers learn to work as a team, solve problems, and trust their abilities. This helps them grow in confidence and learn how to work well with others.
Developing Leadership Skills: Bear Archers are encouraged to take on small leadership roles, like helping their teammates or leading an activity. This teaches them how to guide others and make good decisions.
