Food Bank
Every Wednesday, we provide pre-packaged meals, bread donations and weekly provisions of non-perishables to about 50-70 individuals.
- Food pickup at Western MA Food Bank: Currently we only have 1 volunteer with a truck that is only able to hold 1 full pallet at a time, so transporting 1-2,000 lbs of food per week has been challenging
- Freezer and refrigerator storage: Always need more!
- Financial: We always make due on limited budget with ordering free food, but would love to expand our offerings if more funding was available
We are looking for 1-3 additional volunteers with access to a large pickup truck or box truck that would allow us to expand our food ordering and pickup from the Food Bank, and then would need some additional storage options at our center to help accommodate those additional items.
First Pioneer Valley Dream Center
To love and serve others involves a holistic approach, addressing both tangible and spiritual needs. It means providing food, clothing, or other necessities while also offering emotional support, compassion, and a listening ear. It emphasizes understanding and respecting the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of individuals. By doing so, we foster connections and create environments where people can thrive not only in their material lives but also in their personal and spiritual journeys. True service is grounded in empathy and the commitment to uplift and empower those around us.
