Fit for winter
The ongoing war has led to a 30% decline in overall births in Ukraine, coupled with an increase in maternity and delivery complications, including premature births. Therefore, Zuerich hilft der Ukraine joined efforts with partners like the Ukrainian Association of Parents of Prematurely Born Children "Early Birds”, the Association of Swiss Hospitals H+, and the Ukrainian Academy of Pediatric Specialties, and Bauchkids to support Ukrainian newborns and their families.
Last winter, we supported 210 Ukrainian babies from frontline cities with warmers and heated baby sleeping bags. This year, we plan to extend our support package and scale up our aid to all of Ukraine. Join us in supporting newborns who has to go through winter along with all the challenges of wartime!
Prematurely born babies often face a risk of subcooling, particularly during the winter months. Our campaign addresses this problem by providing support to premature babies in Ukraine, ensuring they receive the necessary care already since the first days of their lives.
With a donation of CHF 50, supporters can contribute to a package containing essential items for premature babies. Also, we highlight this campaign in our social media (Instagram, Facebook, and Linkedin), so you can subscribe and share the information to strengthen the visibility of our cause.

From all the parents of premature-born babies in Ukraine to... YOU!
Our project has come to an end and we are happy to share that during these 4+ months, we could support 300+ families in Ukraine with essentials for premature-born babies.

As of February 16th, 83 prematurely born babies in Ukraine received our support packages. The geography spans from Kyiv to Zaporizhzhia, from Chernihiv to Kharkiv, from Dnipro to Mykolaiv and many more small settlements. Parents keep sending us grateful words and cute photos of their little ones. And we would like to pass all these thank yous to you <3
We continue to work on delivering more packages to Ukrainian newborns! Each packaging was made with big love and care by our Ukrainian partners - the children’s shop “Ditky” and NGO Early Birds.

The first 40 packages were delivered to the patients of Ohmatdyt's neonatology departments on January 8th, 2024. As the biggest children's hospital in Ukraine, Ohmatdyt took newborns in the most critical conditions for treatment. Our heartwarming support packages could comfort the mothers and bring them joy, while their babies got all necessary care. All doctors and parents are grateful to the donors whose contributions help to keep newborns warm this winter!
Within January-March, we will distribute all other support packages so kindly sponsored by you. They will be sent to babies at the request of their parents and maternities all over Ukraine.
