ThanksGiver Schweiz expansion to 11 food banks
Established in 2020 with the goal of aiding local communities, ThanksGiver has now grown to six food banks, supplying food and essential daily items to individuals from low-income backgrounds. The organization supports over 1,400 people each week. Additionally, it continues to expand its services and reach, ensuring that more families receive the help they need to thrive. Our activities aim to not only support the individuals in need but also contribute directly to reducing food waste.
A significant challenge we observe in our society is food waste on one hand and on the other hand the access to food items for individuals with limited means. Addressing these two interconnected issues could greatly enhance social equity and sustainability.
We collaborate closely with our valued partners to ensure the consistent and efficient operation of these six food banks. Our ambitious goal is to increase this number to 11 by the end of Q1 2025. This planned expansion will enable us to support additional 2,000 individuals on a weekly basis, greatly enhancing our community impact.
