Robi Workshop Live: Hammering Together, Eating Together
About the event
Join us for a day of hands-on crafting and community building with the Robi Workshop. You'll have the opportunity to work together on practical projects while fostering connections through shared activities.
The Robinson Playground in Muttenz (Robi) was established as a community facility in the municipality of Muttenz in 1959 and has been run by the association since 1975. Robi has always remained true to its core mission: to provide children and young people with a space that is as free and open as possible for shared experiences, play, and crafts. Such creative experimentation without expectations and free learning outdoors in the forest has been proven to contribute to healthy child development.
This applies in particular to the model known in technical jargon as “risky play,” which involves trusting children to exercise a measured degree of personal responsibility for risk assessment within a supervised setting. In this way, they can learn to look after themselves, care for others, overcome fears, and develop resilience in the face of them.
Volunteers will partake in building and maintenance activities that promote and enhance this unique space, such as:
- Building a stage, with a roof if needed, for theater, children’s birthday parties, etc.
- Landscaping
- Building a greenhouse
- Building or renovating stairs, fences, and borders
As you contribute your skills and teamwork, you'll experience the satisfaction of creating tangible outcomes that benefit children in the community.
Take a break to share a meal with your fellow participants, allowing for deeper connections and conversations in a relaxed atmosphere. This event is an excellent chance to bond with colleagues and enjoy a fulfilling day outside the office.
