Volunteer Psychiatrist and Psychologists
Rahab's Daughters is seeking compassionate and skilled Volunteer Psychiatrists and Psychologists to provide crucial mental health services to survivors of human trafficking. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting the recovery and empowerment of individuals who have experienced extreme trauma. This project offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by providing psychological care to those who need it most.
1. Clinical Support:
- Provide psychological assessments and evaluations.
- Conduct individual therapy sessions with survivors of human trafficking.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
2. Counseling and Therapy:
- Offer trauma-informed care, addressing issues such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to foster peer support and community.
- Provide family therapy to support the survivor’s reintegration.
3. Collaboration and Advocacy:
- Work closely with Rahab's Daughters staff, including social workers and case managers, to ensure holistic care.
- Advocate for the mental health needs of survivors within the organization and in external collaborations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and support for survivors.
4. Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all client interactions and treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to reporting and evaluation processes as needed.
- Training Programs:
- Trauma-Informed Care Training: Comprehensive training on providing mental health care to survivors of trauma, with a focus on human trafficking survivors.
- Orientation: Introduction to Rahab’s Daughters’ mission, values, and operational procedures.
- Operational Support:
- Access to Clinical Resources: Tools and materials needed to conduct assessments, therapy sessions, and treatment planning.
- Collaboration Tools: Access to communication platforms and collaboration tools to work with multidisciplinary teams
Milestones
Onboarding and Training
- Complete Orientation:
- Attend an orientation session to understand Rahab’s Daughters’ mission, values, and operational procedures.
- Trauma-Informed Care Training:
- Participate in comprehensive training focused on providing mental health care to survivors of trauma, with an emphasis on human trafficking survivors.
- Familiarize with Clinical Tools and Resources:
- Review the tools and resources provided by the organization to conduct assessments, therapy sessions, and treatment planning.
Initial Assessment and Clinical Planning
- Conduct Initial Assessments:
- Begin with psychological assessments and evaluations of assigned clients.
- Develop Individualized Treatment Plans:
- Create personalized treatment plans based on the initial assessments, addressing each survivor's unique needs.
- Establish Therapeutic Goals:
- Set clear therapeutic goals in collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Therapy and Counselling
- Conduct Individual Therapy Sessions:
- Provide regular individual therapy sessions, focusing on trauma-related conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
- Facilitate Group Therapy Sessions:
- Organize and lead group therapy sessions to foster peer support and community among survivors.
- Offer Family Therapy:
- Provide family therapy sessions when appropriate, supporting the survivor’s reintegration process.
Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Care
- Participate in Multidisciplinary Team Meetings:
- Regularly engage in team meetings with Rahab’s Daughters’ staff, including social workers, case managers, and medical professionals, to coordinate holistic care.
- Advocate for Mental Health Needs:
- Actively advocate for the mental health needs of survivors within the organization and in external collaborations.
Crisis Intervention and Emergency Support
- Provide Crisis Intervention:
- Be available to offer immediate crisis intervention support as needed.
- Coordinate with Emergency Services:
- Work with emergency services and other professionals to provide comprehensive support during crises.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain Accurate Records:
- Keep detailed and confidential records of all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans.
- Ensure Ethical and Regulatory Compliance:
- Regularly review and ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to Reporting and Evaluation:
- Participate in the organization’s reporting and evaluation processes, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Follow-Up and Feedback Sessions
- Conduct Follow-Up Sessions:
- Reassess clients' progress periodically and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide Feedback on Program Effectiveness:
- Share insights and feedback with the management team on the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and suggest areas for improvement.
