Let’s celebrate while helping Schweizer Tafel in their mission to diversify its food basket for people in need
For 20 years, the Foundation "Schweizer Tafel" has been distributing free groceries to more than 500 social institutions such as shelters for the homeless, street kitchens, emergency shelters and aid organizations in German and French-speaking Switzerland. The supply chain encompasses mainly from Swiss wholesalers, producers or even retailers who donate their surplus goods to the Schweizer Tafel. Around 16 tons of food come together every day in 12 regions in Switzerland.
The foundation receives surplus food product from retailers that are close to their use-by date. About 90% of these short-dated products consist of fresh produce, such as fruit and vegetables.
The situation has worsened dramatically and therefore extraordinary measures are necessary and a completely new situation for Schweizer Tafel.
To diversify its offer and to be able to deliver a complete range of foodstuffs to the most deprived people, the foundation needs to complete its basket with long-life products such as pasta, rice, oil or canned food (mainly vegetables).
- With CHF 25.00 – you help buying 55 packs* of pasta
- With CHF 50.00 – you help buying 20 liters* of oil
- With CHF 100.00 – you help buying 85 cans* of food
- With CHF 200.00 – you help buying 210 packets* of rice

Thanks to your donation, the foundation will be able to buy these useful products from its partners in large quantities and redistribute them to those who need them most.
The aim is for all participants to fundraise for Schweizer Tafel before and during the COO & BRM Summer Event.
Stiftung Schweizer Tafel
Unser Motto lautet «Essen verteilen – Armut lindern». Täglich sammeln wir bei Produzenten, Grossverteilern und Detaillisten rund 30 Tonnen einwandfreie Lebensmittel ein und verteilen diese kostenlos an soziale Institutionen wie beispielsweise Obdachlosenheime, Gassenküchen, Notunterkünfte und andere Hilfswerke. Diese Organisationen kümmern sich um armutsbetroffene und benachteiligte Menschen. Die Lieferungen entlasten deren Budgets nachhaltig. Die Lebensmittel, bei welchen das Verkaufs-, nicht aber das Verbrauchsdatum abgelaufen ist, sind einwandfrei und können so sinnvoll weiterverwendet anstatt weggeworfen werden.
8.2 % der Schweizer Bevölkerung ist armutsbetroffen und jährlich werden 2.8 Millionen Tonnen Lebensmittel in der Schweiz verschwendet. Durch die unkomplizierte und direkte kostenlose Verteilung von überschüssigen aber noch einwandfreien Lebensmittel, leistet die Schweizer Tafel einen Beitrag zur Linderung der Armut.
Die Schweizer Tafel engagiert sich auch für die Reintegration von Mensch – sie gibt ihnen eine sinnvolle Aufgabe als Fahrerin, Fahrer oder Bürokraft und bietet Starthilfe zur Wiedereingliederung in das Arbeitsleben.
