Food for the Cure Garden Expansion
At Food for the Cure, our mission is to cultivate organic produce for cancer patients in the KC Metro Area. Presently, we operate on a 48'x'30' rented plot at the Organic Community Garden of Saint Peter’s and All Saints Episcopal Church. The limited space restricts the variety and quantity of produce we can grow. We are continuously exploring ways to expand our growing capabilities. Our ultimate goal is to acquire our own land to establish a full-fledged farm, capable of supplying all the cancer patients in the Metro Area. As people allow us to set up raised beds on their property or as we purchase more land, we will be able to grow more food.
Growing organic food requires land, financial resources, and volunteers to tend to the plants.
Food for the Cure offers a program where individuals can volunteer their yards for the installation of raised beds to grow produce for cancer patients. As our efforts gain more visibility, we aim to secure additional donations to support our farming objectives. Our top resource is our community, and reaching these goals will require collective effort from everyone involved.
