Interviewer for exchange students
AFS is the largest global non-profit organization for cultural exchange and has 60 years of experience. Every year, young people between the ages of 15 and 18 from Switzerland spend a school year abroad, living with a host family and ultimately contributing to intercultural understanding and peace promotion through their experiences and contacts.
You will conduct selection interviews with potential exchange students. You will be responsible for getting to know the candidates and assessing whether they are suitable for participation in an AFS program. You will need approximately 4-7 hours per assignment to prepare for and conduct the interview.
Requirements: To fulfill this task, communication skills and good interview skills are desirable. In addition, you should have good empathy and perception of your counterpart.

- Reading the application documents and preparing for the interview
- Conducting the interview according to a set of guidelines. Asking questions and clarifying the interests, motivation, maturity, flexibility, age, and health of the participants, as well as their fears and concerns. Ideally, interviews are conducted by a team of three: 1 minute-taker, 1 observer, and 1 interviewer
- Assessing the candidates as a team
- Correct completion of forms

- Working documents and support from the contact persons at the AFS office
- Timely delivery of candidate documents
