The objective of this assignment is to explore and plan the expansion of Ambition’s products to new markets.

Ambition Institute designs and delivers professional development for teachers, school leaders and system leaders, serving children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Besides our focus on disadvantaged pupils, our geographical reach is restricted exclusively to England. While we are a leading national charity, our team has limited experience of operating in different education systems. However, our programmes, models, and technology solutions could be used in new geographical locations, as well as be sold to customers that typically fall outside our charitable remit (e.g. private/independent schools). The income generated by this traded model would allow us to reinvest and subsidise schools and teachers in areas of the highest disadvantage that we are currently unable to reach.

  • To assess the opportunity of scaling our traded operations to new markets within the UK (i.e., Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland) and overseas (specifically to target high income countries);
  • This might include the potential of selling traded products to new customers; (including non-deprived schools) to fund our charitable mission.

This assignment is ponsored by a member of the Executive Committee (Executive Director, Partnerships)
