The Waves of Change project is a transformative initiative by Drops of Water aimed at addressing critical water scarcity issues in Cameroon. This multi-year project focuses on constructing boreholes in three strategic locations: Buea, Douala, and Nkongsamba. By providing sustainable access to clean water, the project will benefit over 150,000 individuals, improving health outcomes, enhancing economic productivity, and fostering community resilience. Our goal is to create lasting impacts that promote the well-being and prosperity of vulnerable populations in Cameroon.
The Waves of Change project offers a comprehensive solution to these challenges by constructing 12 boreholes across Buea, Douala, and Nkongsamba. Each borehole will provide a sustainable source of clean water, significantly reducing the incidence of waterborne diseases and improving overall health outcomes. The project includes community engagement and training programs to ensure local ownership and long-term maintenance of the boreholes. By empowering local communities with the skills and knowledge needed for water management, we promote sustainability and resilience. Furthermore, access to clean water will enhance agricultural productivity, reduce the time spent collecting water, and allow community members to pursue education and economic opportunities, thereby breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering economic growth. This initiative aligns with global health and development goals, ensuring a healthier, more prosperous future for thousands in Cameroon.
