Over a year ago, our world seemed to have turned upside down. The COVID-19 pandemic turned out to be a greater challenge than any of us expected. However where we live, things are opening back up once more, many of us are vaccinated and we can see the end to the crisis. Meanwhile, developing and emerging countries are still suffering the severity of the pandemic. These consequences are made even more drastic without adequate healthcare or welfare systems.
We cannot forget about these vulnerable populations, so let's take a step towards making a difference.

The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified the struggles of poverty worldwide. To protect those most vulnerable, hygiene measures, medical support and humanitarian emergency relief is needed. In many countries, healthcare systems are close to collapsing. Once again, the poorer people are especially disadvantaged; hospitals officially designated for COVID-19 patients are mostly expensive private hospitals. Meanwhile, most do not have regular employment nor savings to rely on.
Step 1: Donate a minimum of CHF 10.00 to run or sponsor a colleague (other currencies accepted but will appear in CHF). General donations without running/sponsoring are also very welcome.
Step 2: Join the Strava club to run or simply keep an eye on your colleagues' progress and posts
Step 3: Get outside and move! If you're in the club, feel free to share posts to boost motivation.
Caritas Schweiz
Caritas Switzerland prevents, alleviates and combats poverty in Switzerland and worldwide in around 20 countries.
Together with the network of Regional Caritas Organisations, Caritas Switzerland is actively engaged wherever people in wealthy Switzerland are affected by poverty: families, single parents, the unemployed, and the working poor. Caritas looks after asylum seekers and refugees and organises volunteer placements.
Globally, Caritas provides emergency relief in disasters and is actively involved in reconstruction work. With its projects in development cooperation, Caritas works in the areas of food security, water, climate change, disaster prevention, migration as well as education for children and adults.
Caritas Switzerland is an independent association with its head office in Lucerne. The aid agency is a member of the international Caritas network. This comprises 165 organisations worldwide.
