Providing special education and therapy services for the children with neuro developmental disabilities

  • About the initiatives
  • UN SDGs
  • About the nonprofit

Organizations devoted to upholding their rights and promoting tolerance are a glimmer of light in a culture that frequently marginalizes people with disabilities. The Department of Social Services has registered ODIR as a non-profit, non-political, and voluntary organization with the registration number Dha-09230. The Organization for Disabled Improvement Rights (ODIR) Bangladesh is at the forefront of empowering disabled people and igniting social change in conjunction with its game-changing activities. After realizing how difficult it is for people with disabilities to access opportunities and reach their full potential, ODIR Bangladesh was founded.

This non-profit, which was established on July 6, 2012, iat their own land in Dhaka the capital city of Bangladesh is committed to advancing disability rights, enhancing disabled people's access to employment, healthcare, and education, and fighting for their full inclusion in all facets of society. ODIR Bangladesh strives to create an inclusive and empowering environment where disabled individuals can thrive.

Vision:

To emerge as a centre of excellence through multidimensional activities to explore and develop full potential of each individual with special needs to integrate them into the society.

Objectives:

To provide education, training and therapy for rehabilitation of the children and youth with special needs

To generate awareness about disabilities in the society

To provide professional degrees and training for parents, teachers and professionals; and carry out research for development

To promote equal opportunities, protection of rights and full participation of person with special need.

OUR CONCERNS:

1) ODIR Protibondhi Biddyaloy:

ODIR manages the ODIR Protibondhi Biddyaloy for the Disabled in Bangladesh, a pioneering institute for holistic development. Since its founding, ODIR Protibondhi Biddyaloy for the Handicapped has continued the trend of success by taking part in different sporting and artistic endeavors of other NDD youngsters, including Autism, at national and international levels, and has won accolades in a variety of categories. On March 2nd, 2019, the International and National Day of Person with Disabilities, the Honorable Prime Minister presented the National Award to Chairman Kohinoor Azad Molly. On the grounds of the National Children's Academy in 2019, the Minister of Social Welfare, Mr. Nuruzzaman Ahmed, presented ODIR with special honors and commendations for the voluntary reunion that had been planned by the founding general secretary, Mr. Shakil Azad Monon. The organization makes sure that handicapped children have access to a high-quality education. Other than that, the vocational training programs that ODIR Bangladesh focuses on give handicapped people the information and skills they need to pursue meaningful jobs and lead independent lives.

2) ODIR physiotherapy and HealthCare centre: for the persons with disabilities.

3) ODIR Handicrafts and Fashion wear: Vocational training and Rehabilitation program for the persons with disabilities

4) ODIR Training Institute for special education (proposed): professional degrees and diploma courses will be provided for special educators and professional individuals after getting the affiliation under National University.

5) ODIR Publications on disability (monthly):

Giving Now Magazine:

Giving Now magazine, which is produced by ODIR Bangladesh, offers handicapped people a strong platform to share their experiences, recognize their accomplishments, and motivate others. The magazine highlights the voices and skills of handicapped people, challenging society stereotypes and exposing their strengths via uplifting storytelling, in-depth interviews, and thought-provoking articles. Giving Now magazine serves as a catalyst for change by fostering inclusivity, empathy, and understanding throughout the larger community.

In the fight for disability rights, empowerment, and inclusion, the Organization for Disabled Improvement and Rights (ODIR) Bangladesh and its Giving Now magazine have blazed a road. Giving Now magazine is a potent instrument for creating empathy, dispelling prejudices, and increasing awareness. ODIR Bangladesh is tearing down barriers and defending the rights of people with disabilities via its unwavering efforts.

Inspiring us all to accept diversity and build a society where each person's skills are valued and acknowledged, ODIR Bangladesh continues to pioneer the path for inclusion and equality.

Children with special needs are naturally regarded as a backward group in society, providing them with special education, therapy and health care, and providing them with a better quality of life in order to make them independent: integrating them into the mainstream of society is the solution. ODIR is working towards that goal and getting success.

We need your support. It is hoped that high-class individuals, donors and donor organizations will play a role in bringing them back to the mainstream of society by extending their generous hands to facilitate the path of special education, health services, therapy services, and rehabilitation activities for these neglected and backward disabled children/students.
