Prevent Food Waste: Volunteer to Save Surplus Produce in Winterthur

Join us in an impactful indoor activity where you will help save surplus fruits and vegetables from going to waste. As a volunteer, you'll be contributing to responsible consumption efforts by supporting the efficient use of food resources.

Tischlein deck dich saves food from being destroyed and distributes it to people affected by poverty throughout Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Every day, we receive fruits and vegetables from the Migros distribution center that can no longer be sold. We sort through them and are able to save about 85%. The remaining 15% goes to biogas production. We distribute the saved fruits and vegetables to people affected by poverty at our approximately 157 distribution points.

We are looking for new, dedicated “Food Savers” to join our committed team of volunteers to help manage the volume.

This volunteer opportunity provides a hands-on experience in preventing food waste, which is a significant global challenge. Your involvement plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable practices and raising awareness about responsible consumption.

Engage with like-minded volunteers and staff, learn about practical solutions to food waste, and contribute to a noteworthy cause. Equipments such as aprons and gloves will be provided to ensure a smooth volunteering experience.
