About the event

The project “Meeting Point HOPE – Assistance for Refugees” is based on the idea that the Salvation Army operates a second-hand clothing outlet for refugees every Tuesday, while also providing counseling services and opportunities for community. The focus is not solely on material support: through the offer of coffee, the meeting point is also intended to serve as a place of encounter, exchange, empathy, companionship, and prayer for both adults and children.

Objectives of Meeting Point HOPE:

  • To establish and actively shape a place of community, exchange, and knowledge-sharing with refugees (with a focus on Ukraine).
  • To provide refugees (with a focus on Ukraine) with quick and concrete support through affordable second-hand clothing and placement services.
  • To offer refugees daily structure and meaningful activities.
  • To foster social activities that promote networking, community, empathy, integration, and sharing across different social backgrounds.
  • To provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to people in precarious situations.
