Fundraising Prospects Research
Our organization is seeking a volunteer to research potential fundraising prospects that want to support our mission and programs.
Prospect research is a key element of successful fundraising. Identifying mission-aligned foundations, who also have the capacity to give meaningful donations, is the first step of building a mutual and meaningful relationship with a donor.
- A document with about 25 foundation and 25 corporate funding prospects and information about them.
- Your recommendation on who to approach first.
- Website links to our mission and programs- to understand our goals and needs.
- Shared folder with branding, and original photos and videos from Afghanistan (help familiarize with org)
- An Excel template for tracking prospects, including certain metrics for each
Milestones
Kick Off Meeting
- Get to know each other.
- Review the project resources.
- Discuss the project, deliverables, and expectations.
Research Prospects
- You independently conduct the research.
- Compile the prospects in the template given and supply information about them according to the template.
- Rank them according to likelihood of funding us.
