wild bee hotel
About the event
Together, we will dive into the unique world of wild bees. It is amazing how multifaceted it is!
Wild bees are an excellent example of the diversity, beauty, and uniqueness of native nature.
Anyone who sets up a wild bee hotel is making an important contribution to nature conservation and supporting wild bees, some of which are classified as endangered or threatened. Unlike many other nesting aids and insect hotels, a wild bee hotel is specially tailored to the needs of wild bees.
All wild bees are avid flower visitors: not only do they feed on pollen and nectar as adult insects, but these flower products are also collected extensively by nest-building species to feed their brood. This means that they visit flowers much more often than is necessary for their own sustenance. This is precisely what makes wild bees particularly efficient pollinators of not only wild herbs but also fruit trees, compared to other flower-visiting insects.
Nesting aids and bee hotels for different species are being built. In this cozy and varied activity, everyone can work at their own pace and according to their own needs. We will drill, saw, sand, and assemble the hotel.
