Preparing food parcels for families in need

About the event

Founded in 1993, the Colis du Cœur Foundation distributes food and hygiene products to families and individuals in need living in the canton of Geneva.

Colis du Cœur organizes weekly food distributions in Geneva, providing sufficient, fair, and high-quality basic necessities. Every week, nearly 3,000 households receive food aid, thanks to efficient logistics, 400 regular volunteers, and numerous volunteers from companies on an ad hoc basis. The Colis du Cœur Foundation works closely with 51 social organizations in Geneva that issue certificates entitling people to this essential aid.

In 2024, the Foundation launched ColiShops, free digitalized grocery stores with QR codes, welcoming more than 8,500 beneficiaries, 40% of whom are children, per week at two locations, in a respectful and fluid environment. More than 120,000 products are distributed each week. One-off initiatives (toys, shopping carts, gourmet gifts, etc.) also brighten up the daily lives of beneficiaries and reinforce their sense of belonging to a supportive society. 

There are two possible activities at Colis du Cœur: helping to set up the goods (Shift 0) and/or participating in food distribution (Shifts 1 & 2). For 3.5 hours, surrounded by other volunteers from the Foundation, you will distribute essential items to beneficiaries who come to Colis du Cœur. This is a very rewarding and meaningful activity, due to the direct contact with the beneficiaries.
