Robi Workshop Live: Hammering Together, Eating Together
About the event
The Robinson Playground in Muttenz (Robi) was established as a community facility in the municipality of Muttenz in 1959 and has been run by the association since 1975. Robi has always remained true to its core mission: to provide children and young people with a space that is as free and open as possible for shared experiences, play, and crafts. Such creative experimentation without expectations and free learning outdoors in the forest has been proven to contribute to healthy child development.
This applies in particular to the model known in technical jargon as “risky play,” which involves trusting children to exercise a measured degree of personal responsibility for risk assessment within a supervised setting. In this way, they can learn to look after themselves, care for others, overcome fears, and develop resilience in the face of them.
The experiential learning area at Robi should be viewed as a valuable complement to the highly structured and digital lifestyle that children often face today.
